London Hornets go 7-0 with convincing win over Ipswich Cardinals

In a one sided affair, the London Hornets won 43-0 against the Ipswich Cardinals.

With the London Hornets defense again flexing their muscle, the offense had both the ground and air attack in full swing against an Ipswich Cardinals team that was already without some key starters before additional injuries further depleted their ranks.

In the first quarter the Hornets defense had their sole turnover for the game – a recovered fumble. Whilst this was not directly turned into points, later in the quarter the Hornets scored through an 8 yard run to make it 7-0. This was added to via another rushing touchdown to end the quarter 13-0.

The second quarter saw the Hornets again have opportunities to score that weren’t capitalized upon however a third rushing¬† touchdown made it 20-0. A further Field Goal made it 23-0 to close out the first half.

The third quarter saw more success via the pass and it was through the air that the next touchdown was scored, 30-0. Whilst the Hornets were making large gains via the pass, it was yet another rushing touchdown that increased the lead to 37-0.

In the fourth quarter, with a running clock, the Hornets scored on a long touchdown pass to complete the day’s scoring at 43-0.

The Hornets now look ahead to three key matches in close succession which will determine the winner of the division and possible route through the playoffs. Whilst they may be 7-0 at the moment, the Hornets know that they cannot relax and get complacent, and they will be looking to raise the intensity at their next eagerly anticipated match – against the Wembley Stallions.
